Toronto Sun 50th Anniversary events page

November 1, 2021 marks the 50th anniversary of the Toronto Sun and surviving Day One employees and the hundreds who followed are preparing to party. 

 

Who? - All former and current Toronto Sun employees and their guests

 

What? -  A private Toronto Sun 50th Anniversary party being organized and sponsored by the men and women who work/worked in all departments

 

Where? - TBA

When? - TBA (either Monday, November 1, 2021, the anniversary date, or the previous Friday or Saturday)

Why? - Because Toronto Sun employees, from Day Oners on, deserve a party they can call their own and share their stories of the rise of the feisty tabloid

This page will be used for planning updates over the next 10 months.

 

Initial goals:

 

Determine the interest in a party

 

Secure a location

 

Form an organizing committee

Funds will also be raised for the Eclipse White Wear Building heritage plaque once we have approval from the owners and have submitted our application. A special account will be set up for donations if needed.
