Chit happens

Remember TSF mentioning the Toronto Sun was always concerned about those Brick Shirt House ads?

Well, a TSF tipster down Welland way says the Welland Tribune slipped yesterday with the second word in the following online heading: Facility shut down two hours Wednesday.

The typo had been caught by the time TSF checked it out.

But the tipster asked: Where are the editors?

  1. No, the editors are not in India. They are actually in Welland. And seeing how the i and u key are side by side, it is an easy error to make. And surely we have all made that error before.
When one is asked to edit copy, get the pages ready for other editors to do and post everything online, one may make a mistake or two. The mistake was caught and fixed fairly quickly

  2. Two great typos from way back:
The Kitchener-Waterloo Record dropped the second "r" in Greenshirts, a local hockey team, and the Timmins Daily Press ran a story about Mormons holding a convention in the city. The second "m" in Mormons was dropped.

  3. A few years ago in The Sun a secondary headline was supposed to contain the words "public disclosure" but the "l" in public was dropped.

  4. The best part of the Timmins Mormon typo was the publisher at the time was a devoted Mormon.
