Dorothy Mary Wesley, a Toronto-born mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died Saturday.
Visitation at the Turner & Porter Peel Chapel, 2180 Hurontario St., in Mississauga, is Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service in the chapel on Thursday at 11 a.m.

Step back and look at the bigger picture here. Most Toronto-area funeral homes use the Toronto Star as the de facto publisher of obituaries. The Sun's Announcement/Notices/Obituary page should be cancelled due to lack of use.
The Star has contracted out its online obituaries to a US company that services newspapers around the world. Sun Media has set-up its own online obituary-announcement-birth- anything-else service.
The Star's online obituary pages have limited advertising and all ads carry an "Advertisement" disclaimer. There are also subtle links to related services like florists, gift shops and a list of charities.
The Sun's online obituary pages are flooded with ads for anything and everything. Examples:
• One ad features a girl in a white bikini sitting on a beach;
• a camera store ad selling the new Canon camera to "capture those special family moments";
• a health store ad promising to give you healthy living;
• an ad featuring a pair of women's legs with the headline: "Party shoes on sale"
• online gaming ads.
• a weird ad showing a smiling guy wearing a winter hat and standing in a computer store.
I'm sure bereaved friends and family will appreciate the online shopping opportunities provided by thoughtful Sun Media.
Having its own Announcement/Obituary/Whatever site is good for Sun Media. Loading it down with cheap, crappy ads to make a quick buck is tacky, tasteless and fools no one.
Give the grieving families and friends a bit of respect and care, and maybe they'll turn into Sun customers.
