Toronto Sun editors were quick to remove Michael Burke-Gaffney's name from the editorial page masthead today, but not a word about his retirement yesterday after 29 years at the tabloid.
Too soon to comment about the lack of parting words or a photograph? Will a columnist step up during the week and do Mike justice? Is something else planned for the print edition?
Or will it be par for the new Sun Media course, letting another Sun vet leave without a word of thanks for decades of loyal service?
Noticeably missing in the masthead today was a replacement for Mike. Will there be a new managing editor, or is that another position made obsolete with Quebecor's newsroom management multi-tasking demands?
