What if . . . ?

What if Torstar purchased Sun Media Corp. a decade ago?

Reality: Sun Media accepted Quebecor's $983 million offer and inked the deal on Jan. 7, 1999.

What if Black Press Ltd. purchased Osprey Media in 2007?

Reality: Osprey accepted Quebecor's $414 million offer and inked the deal on Aug. 3, 2007.

We are inviting TSF readers to pull an Erica Strange, skip back to 1999 and 2007 to effect a change in the outcomes of both takeover battles.

Torstar, which owns the Toronto Star, now owns Sun Media, and Black Press Ltd. owns Osprey Media. Quebecor is out of the picture.

Would paths taken by a Torstar-owned Sun Media and a Black Press-owned Osprey Media differ from Quebecor's?

We'd like to hear your views on those what if? scenarios. Anonymous submissions are acceptable if you are a Sun Media employee. Be brief, or be lengthy in describing your visions.
