Sault Star -6

The Sault Star says Sun Media layoffs announced today will cut five full-time employees and one part-timer.

Affected are three newsroom positions, as well as two advertising staffers and an office part-timer, says the former Osprey Media paper.

The paper, the former haunt of Toronto Sun columnist Joe Warmington, says the layoffs will take effect tomorrow.

Will any of the dozens of Sun Media columnists speak for the 600?

Stay tuned.
